SVVIT was set in the year 2009 in Bangalore, Karnataka, and is an affiliated college with the right to be an autonomous college. This institute occupies a special place in the field of technical education in the country as it provides various engineering courses in diploma as well as degree programmes. SVVIT enjoys a faculty strength of 50 specialised professionals and has set its milestones to impart quality education in different fields of engineering streams. The institute currently has 8 courses in two different degrees and core areas: civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and mechanical engineering.

SVVIT has plenty of amenities that play a role in providing comfort and an improved learning environment for the deserving students. Studios laboratory is equipped with all necessary facilities to meet the practical requirements of various departments of engineering that would give knowledge about engineering to the students. For those students who seek residential facilities, the college has separate facilities for boys & girls located within the campus for the out-station students. It also understands the need to have a balanced style of students and, to this end, offers amenities such as a court for ball games and games in general. The courses offered in SVVIT cover all the branches of science, engineering, humanities, and management to suit the needs of all the students. The institute provides 8 full-time programmes, 4 B.Tech. and 4 diplomas in various fields. Both kinds of B.Tech programmes have a staggering intake capacity of 60 students and so does each of the diploma courses. This means that the intake for the students was 480 across all the courses that were offered to meet the dreams of aspiring engineers.
