Sri Vijay Vidyalaya College of Education, a premier teacher training institution situated in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, was established in 2006. This co-educational college established on a 5.01-acre plot is an aspirational college to produce future educators. Affiliated to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college provides programmes to create competent and dedicated teachers. The institute has a total student enrolment of 248 along with 23 faculties so that interest can be divided towards the students and provides quality education. Sri Vijay Vidyalaya College of Education offers three regular courses of B.Ed., M.Ed., and D.El.Ed. to meet the demand of various specialisations in teacher education.

The college has various facilities to enhance the academic activities of the institution. Laid down at the centre of the campus is a functional library to ensure that students and teaching staff have access to information. The institution boasts of good information technology to popularise and embrace modern education technologies among the students. Institutional laboratories are departmental, and affiliated laboratories offer practical, intense training sessions. The college also provided hostel accommodation for both the male and female students to cater for the outstation students. Effective space arrangement and design of the classroom provide the best culture for learning as well as interpersonal communications. For instance, the college is blessed with an active Alumni Association, which not only integrates former students but also helps boost the college.

Sri Vijay Vidyalaya College of Education has only three full-time courses and all these courses have been developed to cater to the needs of the present education system. The college offers the Bachelor of Education Programme (B.ED) for which the college has an intake capacity of hundred students. For the postgraduate students, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) programme is offered with 50-seat accommodations. Further, there is a D.El.Ed. course in primary education with a total 50 seats available in the college. All these programmes are two-year full-time courses and endeavour to give intensive training and practice. Total student enrolment is 248 and the college has always ensured that the proportion of students in every teacher is controlled in an equal manner.

The criteria for admissions to Sri Vijay Vidyalaya College of Education are also merit-based and very clear. For the B.Ed. programme, the admissions are done as per the marks secured either in the qualifying examination or in the entrance examination, which is in compliance with the norms of the state government and university. The selection procedure for admission into the M.Ed. programme is stricter with the written test, group discussion, and personal intergroup interview by a board. 

Those who fulfil the requirements are issued admit cards for these rounds. Similarly, the D.El.Ed. programme of the university is also based on merit and has provision for the marks obtained from the qualifying examination or entrance test as per the rules framed by the state. Unfortunately, information concerning this scholarship is not available but CAF is in to support deserving students to achieve their dreams of education. The locals are young, and so is the alumni network, which is rapidly expanding, making for a good word for the college in the field of education.
