SRM Madurai College for Engineering and Technology, Sivaganga (SRMMCET) is a self financing company located in the year 2009. The College is based in Tamil Nadu and is an authorized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) university affiliate of Anna University, Chennai. SRMMCET is spread across a campus of 11.09 acres, with 14 courses spread over 4 degrees, while student strength is 347 and the total faculty strength is 180. The institute is in the field of Engineering and Architecture and also offers Management and Business administration and a variety of other programs for its students.

The infrastructure of SRMMCET has been designed to give the best exposure to the students within the campus. The college has separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls students for out-station students to keep them comfortable all through their stay. The central library is a learning resource centre providing books and monographs, and national/international journals in print and electronic versions totaling over 12,500. For research and group assignments, students utilize work-study computer equipped study centers as well as sophisticated computers located conveniently throughout campus. The campus has Wi-Fi internet connection that enables any student to have access to the internet while in the campus.

Apart from education and discipline for all round personality developments, SRMMCET has adequately facilitated Sports equipments and ground amenities for indoor games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Volleyball, Basketball and Carrom. Today, SRMMCET has extended its courses to undergraduate and postgraduate programs. At present, the institute offers fourteen courses such as BE in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, B.Tech IT etc. The college also provides industry relevant programs like BE in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cyber Security etc. Following the undergraduate level, the college offers ME programs in Engineering Design and VLSI Design; and an MBA program.

The admission criterion is mainly under Common Entrance Examination (TANCET) conducted by the Tamil Nadu Government for SRMMCET. This examination guarantees the selection of proper individuals to give them opportunities in consonance with their performances on the test. This common entrance test is used to apply for different disciplines of engineering and management courses in the college.

SRMMCET has got a separate placement cell in which the faculty members help the final year students to get placed in the reputed organizations. They pick appropriate industry contacts and graduates, which enables learners to transfer from college Recommendation to the real world without much effort.
