SSM College of Pharmacy, Erode: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

SSM College of Pharmacy is an affiliated college was established in 2009 in Chinniampalayam, Pudur, Jambai Village, Bhavani Taluk, Erode District of Tamil Nadu. recognised by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) this is a co-educational institution that offers various (undergraduate and postgraduate) pharmaceutical courses. The college is spread over an area of 2.65 acres and has an intake of total number of 315 students, and there works 24 faculties. 

SSM College of Pharmacy exists to produce six courses of four kinds of academic degree; undergraduate, postgraduate, and higher doctoral levels. The institute maintains a diverse student body with a male-to-female ratio of 3:1, as it raises the problem of working with children and people with disabilities for the pharmacy faculty.

The college has many facilities that are intended to make learning easier and more effective for the learners. A huge library with more than 1960 books and more than 25 scientific national and international journals. Among these sources, the digital library offers readers the rights to download about 10 international journals. The campus is fully accredited with sophisticated laboratories for different fields of Pharmaceutical Science such as, Pharmaceutics, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Microbiology. These are equipped with contemporary accessories important for a pharmaceutical curriculum. The college also provides different accommodation facilities for male and female students for out-station students for their comfortable stay.

With regard to the courses, SSM College of Pharmacy has in offer a total of six courses where all these courses are offered as full courses. These are four under graduate courses, one doctorate, and one dipolma course. The college has total approved intake of 315 students towards all programmes of the college. Although actual graduation data for the most recent year is unavailable, the college’s emphasis on internship and work experience, points to its preparation of competent graduates for the pharmaceutical industry.

The method of admitting students to SSM College of Pharmacy is complete and has been made very much efficient. As for the admission procedure, the details are not disclosed; typically, the characteristics of admission in pharmacy colleges involve students’ performance in the direct related courses and the scores achieved on the pharmacy entrance tests. The Training and Placement Cell of the college also works actively for carrier guidance of the students. These initiatives acquaint students with the developments that have taken place in the particular field, as well as help to develop their skills. The college also provides scholarships, and the statistics from 2021 revealed that 216 undergraduate students met reimbursement to some extent.
