St. Mary’s College of Education was set up in 2007 and is a pioneer teacher training college located in Secunderabad, Telangana. This coeducational college occupies an area of 2.9 acres of land and aims at producing professional teachers. Accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), B.Ed is the only programme offered by St. Mary’s college with the strength of intake is 210. The college recruit a team of 16 qualified faculties that are capable of providing a healthy student- faculty ratio which in turn helps the students to gain individual attention and provide high quality education.

To support teaching and learning activities, St. Mary’s College of Education owns modern teaching and administrative facilities. Among them, there is availability of adequate and well-equipped class, adequate library section having collection of quality education material, and departmental practical lab. It also has an auditorium for purposes of conducting occasions and seminars in the campus making the environment academic rich. St. Mary’s College of Education was established in 1956 and the B.Ed programme is the flagship programme that the college offers for students since 2008. The admissions for this course are limited to 100 students per year for a calendar year so as to ensure that the institution continues to offer quality education to as many trained teachers as is demanded. Studying the programme a student will gain the required theoretical knowledge, mastery of skills, and attain practical experience vital in the field of education.

St. Mary’s College of Education does not have a direct admission process; it follows the norms of TS CHE. The courses are open to candidates who passed the B.Ed Common Entrance Test (EdCET) administered by the state government. A student earns his admission strictly on the scores obtained in this entrance exam and conforming to the statutory quotas for different categories of students. This procedure helps to make sure the college recovers dedicated and capable individuals in the society that has passion for practicing the profession of education.
