St. Thomas College, Belthangady, was founded in the year 2010 and is a college for men and women, situated in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. This affiliated college, recognised by the Indian Nursing Council, provide various type of undergraduate programmes. Located in an area of 1.1 acres of land, currently the college has admitting for 106 students and 17 faculties. There are four programmes of study offered at St.Thomas College to suit different academic and vocational needs of learners. It is in this collage that the institution demonstrates its disciplinary focus to offer quality education with an emphasis on offering traditional as well as professional courses to allow the graduates to face the tests of the contemporary society.

The institution also has its social responsibilities towards the students’ health as well as many medical check-ups and vaccination regimes are also done in consultation with Jyothi Hospital, Laila. St. Thomas College offers four full-time undergraduate programmes such as B.Com, BBM (Bachelor of Business Management), BA, and GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery). These courses are intended to allow students majoring in any of these areas to acquire a good grounding in the best preparation for either further academic study or careers paths in their selected fields. Especially beneficial is the GNM programme which has an approved intake of 40 students and articulates the college’s focus on healthcare training. The total student intake in various programmes is 106 as is total enrolment, implying that existing positions are fully occupied.

The admission procedure at St. Thomas College is very clear and unsophisticated. For the B.Com programme, the college provides a chance for diploma holders in Commercial or Secretarial Practice. A candidate who passes these diploma examinations conducted by the Government of Karnataka may be directly admitted to the third semester (second year) of the B.Com degree course.
