The St. Thomas College, Bhilai, was established in the year 1984 and is a co-educational affiliated college at New Ruabandha Sector, Bhilai Nagar, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. Being NAAC accredited and NCTE approved, St. Thomas College has a varied student strength with an almost equally balanced gender ratio of 47% males and 53% females; this institution also boasts 79 faculty members. Across all courses, this totals up to an enrolment of 2,552 students, many of whom graduate every year. The institution imparts different specializations in arts, commerce, science, and education, having 85% undergraduate and 15% postgraduate student enrolment.

Some of the courses in demand are B.Com with 340 seats, BBA with 60 seats, and B.Ed. with 100 seats. Other specialised programmes in place include B.Sc in Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Chemistry.
