Affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, St. Thomas College of Advanced Studies, Ranni was started in 2014 with a vision to enlighten the rural area of Ranni, Kerala. This affiliated college, located in a 5-acre area, has been in the process of shaping careers for almost one decade. The college receives a total of 257 students and has 22 teachers, making the learning atmosphere to be close and personable as well as academically competitive. Officially, the institute offers 8 courses across 5 different degrees for undergraduates and postgraduates which focuses in variety of fields and levels of learning.

St. Thomas College of Advanced Studies has equipped itself with many a new age facilities that help to complement the learning process. Every academic resource has at its core a central library with access to an almost unlimited wealth of information at students’ disposal. It hasta 50% seats of total intake of the programmes which are offered by different colleges for undergraduate classes through this process that includes merit of any applicant and reserved categories such as SC/ST etc. The remaining must be under management quota and other reserved categories. Admissions to postgraduate programmes such as M.Com are based usually on an entrance examination, and examination of candidates’ portfolio, and many a times an interview.
