St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering was started in the year 1998 and is situated in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu state. Located in a 25 acre campus, this affiliated college is approved by AICTE New Delhi and accredited by NAAC Bangalore. The institute currently provides 15 courses under 4-degree programmes with the student enrolment ratio of 2,088. St. Xavier’s has a large number of faculty members so as to keep student and staff ratio in its favour having a strength of 164. The college has a gender ratio of 67% male and 33% female students and operates both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering has numerous sophisticated facilities to facilitate the education process of the learners in the institute. In this campus, we have two spacious hostels for boys and girls each capable of accommodating two hundred and eighty students respectively. The library, which serves an important academic purpose, currently stock 27 000 books in total comprising of 8 451 titles. Many sportsmen make use of several athletic amenities that act as a incentive and encouragement towards right eating habits and team essence. We have one thousand plus Hi-End computers connected with Ethernet, OFC and Wi-Fi in the college. A large buffet style dining hall is available providing fresh and clean food of diverse meals for a reasonable price. Other facilities provided are an event hall, transport facilities, a gym and health centre whereby first aid services are provided.

Nowadays St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering provides wide variety of courses, from 6 undergraduate ones to 11 postgraduate ones. The total students group enrolment in the institute is 2, 088 with a good proportion of the full time courses. The academic year prior to this one actually had a very high number of graduates indicating the college’s emphasis on quality education and helpful for students success.

St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering have put in place admission policies that are thorough, fair and based on merit. As for the undergraduate engineering, the college accepts qualification based on the counselling of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA). The admission to MBA and MCA postgraduate programmes are based on a candidate’s performance on the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test referred to as TANCET. The institute also accept the PET and also the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG) for some of the postgraduate courses.
