About The Statesman Print Journalism School, Kolkata

The Statesman Print Journalism School is established in Kolkata in the year 2008 as an independent private endeavour committed to training the rising generation of print journalists. Located in Kolkata at Statesman House, 4 Chowringhee Square, this is a co-educational postgraduate diploma course in English Print Journalism. Being a young institution with a focused program, the school can foresee providing first-hand training within the precincts of print journalism so that students are prepared for the media world.

The Statesman Print Journalism School campus encompasses several facilities that help back up a proper learning infrastructure for the students. The campus houses a library that has been provided with the best journalistic resources and literature available to be accessed by the students. Guest lectures, seminars, and events are conducted in an auditorium that exposes students to industry practitioners and the trends in journalism at the present moment. College Information infrastructure ensures that students are conversant with all digital tools in use in the present newsrooms. There is a cafeteria where students unwind and hang out; this also provides an opportunity to engage the members of the Assembly during lunch breaks.

The Statesman Print Journalism School offers just one program: the Postgraduate Diploma in English Print Journalism. This is a full-time nine-month program covering intensive education in print journalism.

Admission to The Statesman Print Journalism School is through an account of a very rigorous and selective process. The eligibility conditions include that the possible applicants must have passed out from any discipline, must be less than 25 years of age, and must be good in proficiency with the English language. The institute admits even those students who are awaiting the results after appearing in the undergraduate examinations. The process of selection involves a written test and interviews.
