Stella Mary’s College of Engineering, Kanyakumari, was established in the year 2012 and is a self financing, private engineering college functioning under the Thiruvallar Quasi Religious Charter in the southern part of Tamil Nadu, India. This affiliated college approved by AICTE, New Delhi and NAAC, Bangalore comprising a wide spectrum of engineering and management courses for its students. Located on a large land area of 40 acres, the college admits a total of 805 student and has a faculty of 95 members. Stella Mary’s offers 9 courses over three degrees levels in order to focus on specialisation in different areas of engineering and management.
Stella Mary’s College of Engineering make sure that the students are provided with quality environment and effective teaching learning resources and equipments. The campus has developed various laboratories for each branch and they are Mechanical, Civil, Computer science, Electronics communication and electronics and electrical. The central library contains approximately 5000 books in the engineering disciplines and the library facility provides e-resources. In the interest of students, there are two hostels -one for boys and the other for girls having facilities of accommodation, a canteen and comfortable and home-like environment. There is also a gymnasium, a cafeteria, a hall for assembly and other functions, and a shop to meet learners’ various needs among other facilities.

The UG programmes are BE Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Stella Mary's College of Engineering Kanyakumari is an undertaking for self-financing engineering colleges approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna University. The college provides a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and management. It also aims at fair, transparent and merit admission processes so as to give even the most deserving aspiring candidates a chance to take up their programs at Stella Marys. Normally, the Stella Mary's academic year begins in the months from August to September, and the admission process starts much earlier. The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is a standardized state test for admission consideration into B. Tech programs, and it tests students in the relevant engineering subjects. Admission into subsistence MBA programs is, on the other hand, predicated on the score in the TANCET tests.
The eligibility criteria vary from program to program. Generally, for undergraduate engineering programs, the aspirant should have successfully completed a 10+2 educational program with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects of study. A minimum aggregate score is usually required in the qualifying examination, generally around 50-55%. With respect to postgraduate courses, students must have a bachelor degree in the relevant field. Also, a cutoff percentage is defined by the college to qualify students for admission. These dates relating to admission, such as application dates and results dates, would usually be as per the schedules of TANCET and CEETA-PG.
Application Process
Stella Mary's College of Engineering, Kanyakumari, involves the following steps in the application process:
1. Entrance Examination: A candidate needs to take the relevant entrance examination of TANCET whether for undergraduate or MBA programs, or CEETA-PG for postgraduate engineering programs.
2. Application Form: After the entrance exam results are announced, the eligible candidate may download the application form from the college website, or collect it personally from the College Office.

7. Orientation: Orientation for admitted students generally takes place before classes begin.
Degree Wise Admission Process
The undergraduate engineering programs offered at Stella Mary's College include six programs, namely: Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. All these programs are made available based on TANCET scores. The overall capacity for B.E/B.Tech programs is 420 seats, while Computer Science Engineering takes lead as the highest with up to 120 seats.
M.E.: The college has only two postgraduate engineering courses: M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering and M.E. in Industrial Safety Engineering. Admission to these two programs is based on scores in CEETA-PG. Each of the M.E. programs has a capacity of 24 seats. Candidates seeking admission into these courses must have at least a related B.E./B.Tech degree.
MBA: The institution also runs a sizable MBA program with a total intake of 120 seats for its MBA program. For MBA admission, one of the requirements considered is the performance of the candidates in the TANCET, while in some incidences interviews may be held for selected candidates. This program allows for candidates with degrees in any subject to be eligible for admission.
