SRITW or Sumathi Reddy Institute of Technology for Women, at Warangal, Telangana was instituted in the year 2009. This women only institute is the part of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad & is approved by AICTE – All India Council for Technical Education. Situated over an area of 5.25 Acre, the college has the capacity for 1,010 students in six B.Tech specialisations for a total of undergraduate programmes. The institute has 117 faculties including members to support the appropriate student-teacher ratio. Serving the cause of engineering education, SRITW has established itself more importantly as an institution that contributes to the development of the female talent in the science and technology discipline in particular.

For this reason, the institute boasts of well-equipped facilities that help learners get the best experience during their study. SRITW has a rich collection of books, journals and other periodicals in every field of study. The campus has up to date laboratories in order to facilitate the practical sessions to the students in their respective fields. To cope up with the advanced world, the institute provides a strong IT service including Internet/Wi-Fi facility all over the premises. Besides academic development, SRITW offers good sports amenities to make sure that the students are physically as well as mentally competent. The campus also has a cafeteria where students can take their meals and there is always a worry of a healthy student population. In addition to that, for out-station students the institute provides hostel facility with power back up, dining hall and playing areas etc.

SRITW presents a 6 B.Tech programmes where all the courses provided are full time and take four years to complete. The academic programmes offered at the institute are B.Tech specialisations in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Data Science. For this purpose, these programmes are aimed at fulfilling the new and rising demands of the relevant field as well as to make sure that the learners should be able to commence their professional careers successfully. The total approved intake for such courses differ from each other: the maximum number of seats for Computer Science and Engineering is 120, while the maximum for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is 180. Electronics and Communication Engineering, Cyber Security and Data Science have other specialisations that provide intake of 60 students.

The admissions to the SRITW are mainly through the Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test that is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. Also, the scores for JEE Main is also considered by the institute as standard procedure for students’ admission. In the case of B.Tech programmes, there is 70% seats for merit mentioned with respect to TS EAMCET rank, the remaining 30% falls under the management.. There is also a lateral entry scheme for diploma holders so that they join second year B.Tech programmes without writing ECET. This diverse admission practice makes it possible for so many talented students with different background to be given a chance to study engineering at SRITW.
