Surya College of Education, established in Jagtial since 2002, is located in Nookapelly in the state of Telangana. This co-educational institute, which is also affiliated, functions under the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) so students are assured of quality teaching. It is a co-educational college which has a ten-acre campus and total admission intake capacity of 200 students and with a dedicated faculty of 24 teachers thus, having a perfect student-teacher ratio. Surya College of Education is offering one course which is Bachelors of Education (B.Ed) which is a full time course for two years.

To maintain the student’s academic and personal development, Surya College of Education has developed several learning facilities for students. The campus has well equipped laboratories to support every department where students can learn practically as well as theoretically. The infrastructure of IT is worthwhile to mention, thus, the computerised laboratory equipped with six computers connected via LAN, internet facilities available. In the shared computer lab, students undergo intensive training in different computer technologies such as the Microsoft office package, and modern techniques used to search for information over the internet. The college library, referred to as the core of the institution, has a rich variety of printed materials that may be grouped as philosophical, sociological and psychological paradigms of education and trends in current practice and methods of teaching and learning. A large common study library with comfortable softly furnished chairs is available for the students to read newspapers and magazines during their free periods.

The flagship programme at Surya College of Education is the B.Ed programme with an approved intake strength of one hundred students. This is a full-time course meant to prepare whoever stretches through it to be a formidable teacher within and without classrooms. It appears that the curriculum may include virtually any course related to education psychology, methods of teaching, and management of classrooms etc. Due to the existence of a single specialised programme in the college, there is the greatest concentration as well as depth in the training of teachers to enable them to effectively perform their future roles.

Surya College of Education has set admission policy based on the marks secured in the qualifying exam and/or written test in case applicable. Regarding admission policy the college follows the norms of admission that are provided by the state government, Union Territory administration along with the affiliated university. 

Sports facilities are also available in Surya College of Education and also it has concern on the overall personality of students. The college playground that is available, has space to contain games like football, volley ball, and cricket letting the students engage in sports along with their studies. In addition, the college has a seminar hall, the Dr. K. Venkata Ramaiah Memorial Hall, for extension lectures, seminars, discussions, workshops, college functions etc. Some of these facilities  include a canteen, guest house, waiting bay, and a health facility that has first aid meant for the students and staff in an institution.
