The SVU College of Sciences was founded in 1954 and is the constituent college of the Sri Venkateswara University situated in the region of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. This is a co-educational institution with 49 courses offered at four degree level; M.Sc, Ph.D, PGD, M.Phil. The college has a total population of 1,665 and 62 members of the faculty teaching various specialties in sciences. The campus of the university is located at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh – 517502 and encompasses a number of educational activities in different scientific fields. The college provides a number of facilities for the students and for various activities both academic and co-curricular. While the university hostels are provided with all essential physical structures both male and female students are housed in different hostel blocks. The campus also has well equipped and technically developed mechanical and science laboratories to support science students. A good reading and collection center for students and instructors is a collection of literature.
