Swami Pragyanand Shiksha Mahavidyalaya, Jabalpur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Swami Pragyanand Shiksha Mahavidyalaya Jabalpur was established in 2016 in Katangi Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh it is affiliated college. This is a coeducational college recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offers teacher education courses. Established at a 4 acre campus, the college has 200 students intake and faculty of 21 in total. The institute offers two full-time degree programs: B. Ed and BA B. Ed for those who want to become teachers. Being a Teacher Education Institute, the college aims at producing professional teachers in Brindaban.

It has diverse infrastructure to accommodate the various academic activities and compliment its programs. The library stocks both standard books and resourceful books and the students are allowed to use the available computer and internet for research work. Among the facilities, the IT infrastructure consists of new computer labs with qualified trainers to teach students appropriate computer skills. In physical development the college provides and promotes indoor and outdoor sporting activities. 

There are laboratories for each department which means that every learner gets practical lessons and there is a cafeteria where learners and staff can interact. The institute also keeps a guest house to accommodate the visiting faculty and the family of the students which clearly shows its concern of being a host institute. A college has a health centre with facilities for first aid to the college populace and an assembly hall for occasions like seminars. Well equipped classrooms also enhance the teaching and learning environment as envisaged within the development.

Swami Pragyanand Shiksha Mahavidyalaya provides two broad teacher education programmes. The B.Ed is a two-year full time course and the BA B.Ed is four – year full time integrated course. In the case of CUET, there are 100 approved intake seats and 100 indicated seats for NEST making the total of 200 seats offered each year. These are programs that aim to produce teachers by providing students with education course content with teaching methods. The fact that the college offers only two specialized courses enables the production of well-trained educators.

While keeping in mind the marks secured in the qualifying as well as entrance examination, Swami Pragyanand Shiksha Mahavidyalaya admits students. B.ED program is offered as per directives of state government, UT administration and the University to which the college is affiliated with. Similarly, in the BA B.Ed programme the process is the same but at the time of admission the students have to filled the pre-preferred discipline options and the pedagogic specializations they want to go for. 

This removes arbitrary determinant which these preferences are then given according to merit and availability. The admission policy of the college is following the time line of admission given by the affiliating university as well as the regulatory body to run the institution.
