Swami Vivekanand College of Pharmacy, founded in 2005 in Patiala, is one of the leading college offering education in the field of pharmacy. This affiliated college is in the village of Ramnagar near Banur in Punjab, and the college occupies 2.6 acre land. With the permission of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the institute is offering many pharmacy courses to its 386 registered students. The college has 15 members in its faculty which makes the ratio of students to teachers favourable and the quality of education excellent. It has 4 programmes to promote pharmaceutical sciences which includes B.Pharma, D.Pharma, M.Pharma, and Pharm.D.
Swami Vivekanand College of Pharmacy has a wide range and selection of facilities which are intended to improve learning and development of the students. There are boys and girls hostels, fully furnished, airy, and fitted with bathrooms and toilets for each floor. These residential facilities provide superbmess facilities to cater the needs of the inmates by serving three nutritious meals a day besides evening teas. For leisure, the hostels have provided TV room and indoor games area in order to entertain the students. security services are provided for the students 24/7 while safe drinking water is sourced and supplied through the Reverse Osmosis process on the college.
The health standard is maintained through a facility of an organised gym for those in the hostel. Another course that epitomise the college’s overall growth is the sports facility that comprise of a well established playground and an athletic track. There are some indoor and outdoor games which students can play like cricket, volleyball, football, basketball etc In addition skill development classes are also available for the students.
The courses offered in Swami Vivekanand College of Pharmacy are four in number and all are only on a full time basis. The total number of seats for the students in the institute is 205 broken up in different courses it offers. The B.Pharma programme which is the base of the college has a maximum strength of one hundred students. This is succeeded by the D.Pharma programme for which fifty six students are admitted followed by the Pharm.D programme which accommodate thirty students and M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics which admit fifteen students. These programmes are aimed at giving students the necessary start in pharmaceutical sciences and make sure that students get suitable jobs in this area.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: Swami Vivekanand College of Pharmacy has an intake of 100 seats for its B.Pharma course. It is offered based on merit obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics). The overall cost of the B.Pharma course is Rs 4,20,000.
D.Pharma: There are 60 seats available in the college for the D.Pharma course. Admission to the two-year diploma course is also on the basis of merit in the qualifying exam (10+2 with related subjects). The fee for the D.Pharma course is Rs 1,70,000.
M.Pharma: The M.Pharma course, that is, M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics, has 15 seats. Admission to this postgraduate program is mostly through GPAT scores. For the M.Pharma course, 85% seats are reserved for Punjab residents and 15% for candidates from other states. If seats are vacant in any category, admissions are done on the basis of merit of the qualifying examination. The total cost of the M.Pharma course is Rs 2,00,000.
Pharm.D: The Swami Vivekanand College of Pharmacy has 30 admissions to its Pharm.D program, a six-year postgraduate doctoral degree in pharmacy, for which 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics is a required qualification. The Pharm.D fee is Rs 8,70,000 overall.
