Swami Yogananda Giri College, Kokrajhar, is an affiliated college, situated in Kokrajhar, Assam, and  was established in 1994. This co-educational college is located on a 4.95 acre of land. The college offers undergraduate programmes to 756 student enrolees. The college has a 16 member faculty strength and offers 5 courses in two degree programmes. Being an Arts and Humanities institution, it has an orientation of providing quality education in subject areas such as English, Assamese, Economics and Political Science and so on. It also has nearly equal number of male and female subjects, where 58% are male while only 42% are females and all these students are from the state of Assam only.

To support its students, Swami Yogananda Giri College will make sure that the environment in which learning is to take place is effective to support the learning. It has a rich library with over 10000 books being procured both in text and reference as well as general books. The library also purchases current journals, periodicals, and newspapers and has an attached reading room for students and teachers. There is also a modern RCC Girls’ Hostel within the college campus itself but this is financed by the UGC 12th Plan Grant. RCC Indoor Stadium is available containing badminton, carom and exercising hall. The college also has an auditorium to accommodate event and seminars, a canteen, and an active alumni association after the students serve their college terms. 

Swami Yogananda Giri College teaches five full time undergraduate programmes in total. These are the BA (Honours) in English, Assamese, Economics & Political Science, the General BA programme. All our courses are structured as 3 year full-time programmes that equip students with broad specialised knowledge in their areas of specialisation. This college has a total student intake capacity of 756, which has been designed to keep the student faculty ratio and to give personal attention to each student according to their credits.

The admission of fresh candidates in a particular course in colleges and universities is mostly on the basis of merit which gives an open chance for all the deserving candidates out there to possess their desired course. The college has a clear selection criterion for student enrolment basing it on the marks scored by the candidates in the previous year.
