The Cochin College, started in 1967, is an affiliated college in Kochi, Kerala. Located on a 15 acre land, the institution has an elaborate course portfolio for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Affiliated with the Mahatma Gandhi University, NAAC accredited, The Cochin College total students 1,857 total faculty 94. It offers 19 programmes offered in eight programmes, listed by discipline in the Sciences, Arts, and Commerce. Due to it’s dedication and focus on improving the education of the students, The Cochin College has emerged as one of the prominent schools in that area that is strategically positioned to meet the education needs of the many students that are eager to pursue an education in that region.

The Cochin College has equipped a number of infrastructure services that help in improving the education quality of a student. The college library acts as information resource centre form to enhance academic exercise through provision of book, journals, newspapers, magazines and periodicals. For football, handball, volleyball, and cricket, there is a nice natural ground which is properly marked out, while for basketball and shuttle, there is a cemented court available. The college also lays emphasis on techno medieval prospects in addition to being equipped with IT Support. They also include other sub standard facilities such as the gymnasium, a cafeteria, a cooperative store and a parking space. The institution hires a doctor to be on call part-time on the school compound and the school arranges with the nearest hospital for emergencies. Also, there is separate development of well-furnished laboratories for practical classes and an auditorium for conducting seminars and other activities.

The Cochin College has a wide provision of subjects to meet different courses as well as interests of the learners. It has 19 courses in all, of which some are full-time and some self-financed programmes. These include B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Botany Plant Biotechnology, Zoology and Mathematics Self Financed, BA in English Language and Literature and Economics, B.Com in Finance and Taxation, and Marketing, BBA and BCA Self Finance. At postgraduate level the college offers M.Sc Physics, Zoology, Chemistry, Mathematics, M.Com Finance & Taxation and M.A. in English. The self-financed courses hence add other opportunities available to students looking for particular training. The total of students within all programmes amount to 1,857 seats.

Like all other aspects of the college, admission policy exercised at The Cochin College is equally liberal and based on merit. On its part, the college takes into consideration, performance index for the relevant qualifying examination as a key factor when accepting students. For postgraduate programmes, the college may also demand entrance examination.
