Thirumal College of Education, Vellore: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Thirumal College of Education, Vellore, is a co-education college for women which was started in 2008 to train the teachers. The affiliated college lies in Thirumal Nagar, Pallalapalli, Lakkinayakkanpatti-Post, Tirupattur Tk, Vellore District, Tamil Nadu and offers 5.03 acres of land. Affiliated to the National Council for Teacher Education with an intake of 100 students, the institute provides the B.Ed. course. The college has a teaching faculty of only 14 teachers and it has kept its vision and educational niche moderate because of the total student strength of 150.

Today there can be discussed a variety of facilities useful in the learning process in the college for students. It is separately having hostels for boys and girls to cultivate a sense of community feeling and mould their personalities for that teaching profession. There are vegetarian and nonvegetarian foods available in both the hostels. The college has a library, which is run by a professional librarian and is functioning from 10 a.m to 5 p.m Every reader is allowed to access most of the documents and materials by an open-shelf system. It caters to the user requirement for general and special books, encyclopaedias, theses, journals and newspapers both in Tamil and English. To support practical uses of the knowledge, the college has a Psychology Laboratory where B.Ed. students regularly perform experiments as part of their coursework, and M.Ed. students can choose their instruments.

It is a single full-time bachelor's programme known as Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at Thirumal College of Education. Due to access and legislation, this institute has an approved capacity of 100 students and a duration of two years, which marks the fact that it offers quality teacher education. The B.Ed. course is one localised teaching course that will produce qualified teachers who would meet the teaching requirements of this country.

This college takes its admission on a merit basis, based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. Admission policy of the college is as per the instructions of the state government, the UT administration, and the university with which it is affiliated. This makes the filtration and selection of the teachers to be impartial and very effective for the aspiring teachers.
