Thirumalai Engineering College (TEC), Kancheepuram was established in the year 1999, is one of the most sought-after institutes, and is affiliated with the University of Madras. This affiliated college, recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), undertakes different positions in engineering and management. For undergraduate engineering programmes, the admissions procedures are based on the performance rates obtained in the higher secondary board examinations and other competitive examinations, including TNPCEE/CET. This exam is also accepted by the college for admission to postgraduate courses in the institution, known as the TANCET.
