Togari Veeramallappa Memorial College of Pharmacy, Bellary was founded in 1985 is one of the leading institutions involved in pharmaceutical education in Karnataka, India. This co-educational college is situated at Y. Nagesh Shastry Nagar, Kappagal Road, Bellari and the college occupies approximately 0.91827 acres of land. The institute, PCI approved offers four specialised programmes leading to the award of Bachelor of Pharmacy The total intake for each of the programmes in the institute is 356. Presiding over 20 efficient teaching staff covered with substantial experience, the college has friendly and favourable teacher-student ratio and quality education system.

Togari Veeramallappa Memorial College of Pharmacy has made several improvements on infrastructures, which are state of art facilities that would improve students learning. The state of the art laboratories meet different branches of pharmacy such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacy Practice. These labs are updated in the programmes frequently to match the benchmark standards set by apex bodies. The college has a well stocked library in which all the books related to pharmacy are available and subscription to different e-journals and e-books is for HELINET Consortium Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Facilities include computer aided learning through a computer lab equipped with 40 multimedia systems under the supervision of skilled faculty. Student welfare is also accorded topmost importance, and the college hostel is conveniently separated for boys and girls with comfortable and airy lodges with security. On-campus medical care and consultation are available at a modern Healthcare Centre that is accompanied by hospital partnerships in case of severe sickness.

Togari Veeramallappa Memorial College of Pharmacy has designed a list of courses for pharmacy that can help students to achieve their goals in the pharmaceutical world. The institute provides four full-time programmes: These programmes include B.Pharma (Bachelor of Pharmacy), M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics, Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy,), and D.Pharma (Diploma in Pharmacy). These programmes have an approved intake capacity of 190 students in total, and this makes the college to provide quality education to the students. The self-financed B.Pharma programme, has 100 seats, serves as the mainstay of the college, while the Pharm.D and D.Pharma programme has the capacity of thirty and sixty students of respectively. The M.Pharma programme also scarcely offered for Pharmaceutics does not have a set course intake capacity.

The procedure of admission in Togari Veeramallappa Memorial College of Pharmacy is mainly based on the merit acquired in qualifying examination. For the above said M.Pharma Pharmaceutics and Pharm.D programme, the candidates are selected on the basis of the merit list prepared for the specific qualifying examination. Admission into the college does not strictly require any entrance examination but the college aims at admitting students with the best performance records in their respective classes. This approach makes it possible for attracted and intelligent students to have a chance to study their chosen pharmaceutical course at the institute.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: B.Pharma degree offered at Togari Veeramallappa Memorial College of Pharmacy. The course was approved with 100 seats intake. This is an entrance degree, where merit acquired in 10+2 or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and biology/ Mathematics as compulsory subjects. It will take four years to complete.

M.Pharma Pharmaceutics The Master of Pharmacy program in Pharmaceutics admits students on the basis of merit. The admission criteria are the marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying examination, generally a B.Pharma degree. The procedure says that the candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations.

Pharm.D: It has an intake of 30 seats in an approved Doctor of Pharmacy program. The admission in Pharm.D is based on marks obtained in qualifying examinations. Applicants with 10+2 having Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply.

D. Pharma: The intake of the Diploma in Pharmacy is approved at 60 seats. Admission to this program is also based on merit acquired in the qualifying examination, which is generally 10+2 or equivalent with relevant subjects.
