Udhayam Polytechnic College, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu was set in 2007 and is affiliated withthe Tamil Nadu State. Affiliated with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, this institution provides four diploma programmes in engineering streams. Seated on 12 acre land and having an aggregate student enrolment of 288 with a faculty complement of thirty, Udhayam Polytechnic College is all set to impart quality technical education and the college offers only the diploma courses, adding full-time Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, and Electronics & communication engineering Streams.

The college offers several service amenities to improve the learning achievement of the student. The library has been centrally placed and contains books, journals, magazines and project reports in almost all fields of science and technology. Practical facilities allow the student to work under the supervision of teachers and employ all essential facilities. For extra curricular activities, this college comprises of auditorium for events and seminars and sports for physical activity. Udhayam Polytechnic College also have different hostel facilities for the male and female students with clean rooms and also hygiene infrastructure. These hostels have recreation halls, gym facilities, and arrangements for indoor games.

Udhayam Polytechnic College provides four diploma courses in which all the four course has a period of three years each. The college has total approve of intake 210 disciples for all the programmes offered in the college. The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering programmes have been opened for 60 students each while Diploma in Civil Engineering is available for 30 students. Each of them is aimed at preparing students for successful employment in the sphere of engineering and equips learners with a knowledge base in their selected subjects.

The admission procedure at Udhayam Polytechnic College is made smooth and open to possible students. For polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu, they admit those who excel in their 10th standard exams.
