Udupi Institute of Hotel and Tourism Science is a new educational institution that was started in 2002 and is located in Udupi, Karnataka. This affiliated college provides provision of a number of hospitality and tourism courses and other related courses. Located in a campus of 0.5 acres, it has expanded to have total intake capacity of 668 students with solely 25 Faculty members. The institute has 7 courses in 4 programmes of study with focus areas in Hospitality Science, Food Technology Interior and Fashion Design etc.

Udupi Institute of Hotel and Tourism Science has several facilites aimed at improving the learning process of its learners in the institute. The library is a large functional and loaded with books of the indian and international authors on different kinds of books and journals and magazines for general and specific interest. In terms of the practical experience, the college has modern computer facilities and additional complex facilities accordingly equipped for food and beverage production where all essentials are provided in order to introduce students to the art of cooking. The Housekeeping Lab with a model room gives practical lessons in maintaining hotel’s guest rooms. The class are equipped with current technologies of teaching and learning such as audio visual equipments.

There are as whole seven full time programmes taught at Udupi Institute of Hotel and Tourism Science across disciplines. These include B.Sc Hospitality Science, Food Technology, Interior Design and Decoration and Fashion Design, BBA, B.Com, BCA etc. The institute’s total student capacity is 668. These programmes meet various specialty areas within the hospitality and tourism Industry and offer the students specialist knowledge and skills.
