The University College of Education was established in 2014 at Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry which is a Constituent College in Rajamahendravaram of Andhra Pradesh. This college is a co-educational college and is located across a large area covering 96.27 acres. Currently, the college has two post graduate programs in education with a total enrollment capacity of one hundred thirty and total faculty strength of fifteen. Consequently, as a constituent college it functions under the umbrella of Adikavi Nannaya University and offers education in the field of teaching and physical and education. Its academic mission is evident in all the institute’s operations especially in the way it trains teachers and develops an approach to sports.

For this reason, the college boasts of quality sports facilities that will ensure that every interested athlete has a place to practice and improve on his/her health. An auditorium is used in academics regarding a certain culture in the university or college and also helps in the co-curricular activities. School library is a valuable learning resource center for students and departmental laboratories are practical training stations for students. Availability of a health center with first aid facilities guarantees some level of health in the students. It also has also good computer facilities and other IT requirements compatible with the current college education. The canteen within the ministry, like human resources, is used to provide food and drinks to both the workers and learners. Furthermore, the institution has offer hostels for both the male and female students that cater for the needs of students who live in the institution’s hostels.
The college has only two full time courses, both at post graduate level and they are education and physical education. The maximum number of students that were approved to take these programs is ninety for the year. For the B.ED programme there are 50 seat and for the M.P.Ed programme there are 40 seat. These courses make students ready for teaching profession and sports profession respectively it is in consonance with institution being a center of educational excellence.
In the case of University College of Education the process of admission is based on merit and the regulations laid down by the state government and affiliated University. For the B.Ed program, candidates should have scored not less than fifty percent in their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with majors in Science, Social Sciences, or humanities. However, candidates who possess Bachelor of Engineering or Technology, specialized in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks are also eligible for participating in this exams. The admission of the M.P.Ed program involves screen test, fitness test, interview test with percentage obtained in the qualifying examination.
The college follows the admission schedule decided by Adikavi Nannaya University generally in the same pattern as followed in Andhra Pradesh universities.
