Saifabad placed in Hydrabad, Telangana, the University College of Science was founded in 1951. Science is among the courses offered in this established college affiliated to Osmania University with a diverse programme option. Headquartered in a 71,732 sq meters compound the college has a total enrolment of 1336 students and has hired 21 faculty members. It currently has 23 different courses in 4 programmes of study with options available in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Biotechnology at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

University College of Science policy entails ensuring that students get the best facilities in their academics to improve their performance. The intake consists of well-equipped practical demonstration rooms, state of art multi gym, and sports complex with play fields of 3 developed acres. A spacious hall of 3500- sq- feets harbour a library with more than 16545 books in its repertoire belonging to all fields of knowledge. It’s also important for students to be in touch with IT underpinning and this is offered as the school has well equipped IT infrastructure. The college has arranged a different Hostel for both boys and girls students so that students from different parts of the country can stay comfortably.

Currently, University College of Science Saifabad has 8 undergraduate and 15 Post graduate programme’s in its system. The undergraduate programmes consist of B.Sc. courses in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Geology, Botany, Zology, Comp. Sc. & Bio-Technology, BCA. Available at post graduate level are Masters in Science in Applied Mathematics, Biotechnology, Botany, M.Sc Chemistry, Geology, Physics, and Mathematics, and Masters in Computer Applications. These courses are provided in both the regular and the self finance options so that most students can be served.

The University College of Science, Saifabad uses merit as the most important criterion for admitting its students. The Osmania University Common Entrance Test (OUCET) is compulsory for the post graduate courses to get admission. The admissions are made though counseling to be facilitated by Osmania University depending on the scores acquired in OUCET. The college admits candidates for a number of courses every academic year in the months of May and July though specific dates are available on the college web site. Information on scholarships are not easily found, however, the institution is famous for its intentions on offering quality education at reasonable fee charges. Over the years, the college has trained and awarded many of its alumni especially in the sciences to be icons in the region given the high standard that the college has set regarding student quality.
