University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research in Faridkot (UIPSR) is a constituent college founded in 2011. This institute has grown rapidly over a short period and is based in Faridkot, Punjab. Being situated in a small plot of 0.75 acre of land, UIPSR is designed to provide an intimate teaching premises for students who intend to study pharmacy. PCI accredited, the institute to offer programmess that will enhance the quality of the graduates in the country. The annual student enrolment capacity of UIPSR is 128 while, the number of faculties is 6 so that the ratio of the students per faculty is low which makes more focus on quality education.
UIPSR has a host of modern facilities aimed at improving on the studying process and general performance of the students. The college has a professionally stocked library for the prospective stock of knowledge in the field of pharmaceuticals at the college level. Technologically advanced health science laboratories satisfy diverse specialisation requirements, which are vital for pharmacy education. The use of IT solutions in the institute keeps the students informed on technological features in the field. In essence of this comprehensive development, the university provides sporting amenities including a gym for physical as well as academic achievement. A campus also has an auditorium for conducting events, seminars etc., cafeteria for having beverages and a health centre with first aid facilities. The Training and Placement Cell for the student community is useful for their concerns about career and the Alumni Association looks after the interests and links of the former and current students.
The institute has provided all the relevant pharmaceutical course combinations for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. UIPSR provides three full-time programmes, B.Pharma, B.Pharma Lateral Entry and M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics. The basic B.Pharma programme takes four years and has 60 students enrolment and the B.Pharma Lateral Entry programme which is a three year programme has 4 students intake. M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics is a two year course which postulates students in this important bracket of pharmacy. These programmes are intended to afford the students academic content information, in combination with necessary skills in pursuit of a rich career within pharmaceutical companies.
Admission in UIPSR is conducted in order to choose students who are best suited for its programmes. For the admission of students into pharmacy institutes, examinations at the national or state level are recognised. UIPSR promote quality education in pharmaceutical sciences and are accorded high priority which is evidenced by this focused strategic direction in a favourable environment and adequate infrastructure.
