Uttaran College of Education, Bankura was established in the year 2009 at Deshbandh, Damodarbati, Onda, West Bengal. This is a co-educational institution affiliated with and approved by NCTE. This institution imparts specialized programs in education. The institution spreads over a compact campus of 0.97943 acres and has at present a total student strength of 400 and a faculty strength of 33.

The college has a number of facilities within its complex aimed at enriching the learning process of the students. A well-stocked library acts as a knowledge center by providing the necessary resources for academic pursuit. The college offers myriad options such as volleyball, football, basketball, cricket, and athletics for those prone to sportsmanship and physical activities. Much attention is also paid to technological growth, with excellent IT infrastructure. The students can get refreshing time in the college canteen, while the need for practical learning is served through specially designed laboratories. An auditorium serves the purpose of events and seminars, making campus life quite vibrant. The institute also has a health center equipped with first-aid facilities. Uttaran College of Education, Bankura offers the following two major courses: B.Ed and D.El.Ed; both are regular programs and run for two years. UG and PG regular courses at the institution have a consistent intake of 50 students per course, and hence, every year, the college offers a total of 100 seats for both courses.

The Uttaran College of Education admission process shall be based on merit with regard to marks in the qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests. The B.Ed course shall run in conformity with the policy and guidelines of the State Govt. and the affiliated University. Admission to D.El.Ed shall be made as per the policy framed by the State Government/UT administration from time to time.
