UIM or Uttaranchal Institute of Management was established in the year 2006 as a private institute. It is a part of the Uttaranchal University and is located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. This esteemed institution offers various streams in commerce and management at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Number of faculty is 11 and courses are offered at the level of Business Administration, Commerce, Information Technology, International Business, and Supply chain Management.

The infrastructure of the institute is one of the best in the city and starts with all modern amenities. UIM has separate hostels for boys and girls, each with single, double and multi bed rooms. A well-stocked library is there to support research and other academic activities with books on different themes, periodicals and digital resources. Internet facility is available through WiFi for both staff and students on campus. First aid facility is available on campus and the institute is associated with nearby hospitals in case of medical emergency. The institute also has sports facility to support students’ work life balance.

UIM offers 15 courses in 5 degree programs: BBA, B.Com (Hons), MBA, and Ph.D. in Management. Various study options available at this institute include full-time and part-time for the diverse needs of students.  

The admission process at UIM is merit-based, considering marks secured in qualifying examinations for undergraduate programs. For postgraduate courses like MBA, the institute accepts scores from national-level entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, MAT, and CMAT. The Ph.D. program considers UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, or GATE scores for admission.
