Vandayar Polytechnic College was ceremoniously started in the year 2005 not as a regular engineering college but as the technical institution in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college recognized by all India council for technical education addresses AICTE provides various diploma courses in engineering streams . The college infrastructure is spread over 5 acre and the total intake capacity of this college is 746 and total no of faculties 74. The institution’s determination to produce“home grown “engineers has in turn put Vandayar Polytechnic College at the forefront of the had the best Polytechnic colleges in the region.

Vandayar Polytechnic College boasts of having quality teaching environment with quality facilities as part of its infrastructure. Students make use of highly developed laboratories for all kinds of specialised engineering, which facilitates practical training. Vandayar Polytechnic College on the whole provides five full-time diploma courses out of which all the courses have a tenure of three years.
