The Veer Shaheed Kesari Chand Rajkiya Snatkottar Mahavidyalaya, Dakpathar, was established in the year 1993 as an affiliated college in Dehradun. Uttarakhand. The institute has been accredited by NAAC and approved by NCTE. With a sprawling 16-acre campus, this college offers 18 courses at the degree level with a total enrolment of 2,200 students. The college has 21 faculty members specialising in arts, science, commerce, and education with a dense presence of 63% female and 74% female students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, respectively.

With the realisation of the essence of student diversity and the need to ensure that student experience be maximally gained, the college has several facilities. The campus has hostels for both male and female students that provide adequate accommodation to the students. The central library is well stocked with the latest text and reference books, national dailies, journals, and magazines for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It has an Influential facility for the students and faculty to browse journals from the country and abroad. It also provides for sports enthusiasts. The other facilities in terms of IT include a computer lab with 25 computers with internet access; it facilitates the students by offering computing facilities to students from all streams. Canteen is present within the campus to offer refreshments, and Wi-Fi connectivity exists in the whole campus. For practical learning experience, the college has its well-maintained labs under their guidance.

Veer Shaheed Kesari Chand Rajkiya Snatkottar Mahavidyalaya comes under multi-disciplinary institute, and thus it offers a variety of academic programmes. This institute provides a total of 18 courses, among them are full-time undergraduate programme and full-time postgraduate programme; other than this diploma programmes are also available. The undergraduate programmes are as such B.Com, B.Sc, BA, and BBA (Self-Finance. At the postgraduate level, the college offers M.Com, M.Sc in several disciplines (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics), and MA in a variety of subjects including English, History, Sanskrit, Education, Hindi, Home Science, and Political Science. Moreover, the institute offers specialised programmes like B.Ed (Self-Finance), PGD in Mass Communication and Journalism (Self-Finance), and PGD in Yogic Science. The total intake of students in the college is 2,200. There are a total of 1,703 undergraduate students and 333 postgraduate students in the college.
