Among the noted institutions in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Victoria College of Pharmacy, Nallapadu, was established in the year 2006. This is a co-educational college affiliated to the Pharmacy Council of India and imparts specialised education in pharmaceutical sciences. The campus is compact with an area of 3.5 acres, and a total intake of students is 222 with a faculty strength of 26. Victoria College of Pharmacy offers three different courses at two different degree levels, where it imparts both undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy studies.
This institution has several facilities to support the learning process of its students. The library is the centre of all academic resources, with a well-stacked collection of 2,186 books, 7 international journals, and 14 national journals. This is supplemented by a reprographic facility. The college also maintains well-equipped departmental laboratories for hands-on learning. The Victoria College of Pharmacy has a highly concentrated curriculum in terms of the courses available, with only three full-time courses in the field of pharmacy. Undergraduate studies are based on the B.Pharma course, while postgraduate aspirants have two specialisations under the M.Pharma course: Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance. This college has an intake capacity of 148 students at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with 100 students for the B.Pharma course and 24 for each of the specialisations in M.Pharma.
Victoria College of Pharmacy encourages an admission policy that ensures that capable and motivated students are admitted to different programs in pharmacy. The institution accepts the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test, a state-level entrance examination, for admission to the B. Pharma course. This will be very useful in the admission process and aid in assessing the aptitude of the candidate for pharmaceutical studies. Though the admission dates may change every year, students are requested to watch out for AP EAMCET exam dates and consequently the counselling dates.
