Vidya College of Nursing, Udupi: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Vidya College of Nursing, started in the year 2005, is an affiliated college in Udupi, Karnataka. This is a co-educational institution located in a five acres land and recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) in terms of nursing education. It has 132 first year, 38 second year, 13 third year, and 8 fourth year students while our faculty includes 11 lecturers and 5 members in administration. At Vidya College of Nursing, there is only one programme, B.Sc Nursing, within which the college aims to prepare qualified nursing personnel to help support healthcare needs.

Vidya College of Nursing has numerous amenities that will enhance and supplement existing learning and facilities needs of the learners. The campus includes separate hostels for male and females which are designed to offer proper accommodation for students. It has a well stocked up library with over 3600 books and 10 national and 4 international journal for the support of its nursing studies. The college too has two computerised labs with access to forty computers coupled with internet connection ready to serve the needs of the students with the most updated tools. For health services, there is a university health centre and on-campus first aid services. The college also uses diet with all students able to access sports facilities at the college. Facilities include clean food facility/cafeteria services, a fleet of 9 school buses/vans, a hall for conducting events/seminars and plays, well equipped practical laboratory.

Vidya College of Nursing offers one full-time course, the B.Sc Nursing. This is a four year programme which has an approved intake capacity of forty students to effectuate a professional training to students in nursing science. The course aims and objectives are to afford students the ideas and practical experiences needed for a competent and successful nursing profession. Since the college offers only this nursing programme, it can effectively offer deep training of students in various developments within the field.

The admission criteria requirements that Vidya College of Nursing uses to identify committed and qualified B.Sc Nursing course students, as the college is approved by the Indian Nursing Council, it is perhaps most delivered to standard admission principles governing nursing colleges in India. This may include review of performance in 10+2 with science stream, test like written skill test if applicable, group discussion /interviews.
