Vidya Prasarak Samiti’s College of Education is located at Ramdurg, Karnataka, and was set up in the year 2004. This is a co-educational institution with its 2 acre campus’ focus on preparing future educators. The college intakes 164 student to train while has 23 faculty members making learning environment serene that enhances the student development and learning. This is an indication of the institutions’ strive towards quality provision where the institution offers a B.Ed programme that prepares and molds competent and sensitive teachers for the classroom of the future.

Vidya Prasarak Samiti’s College of Education has several learning resources facilities to support a college and the students enroled. The nucleus of an academic resource is the established library containing more than 7,400 books including 4,358 B.Ed and 3,057 M.Ed books along with 28 international and national educational journals. Reading rooms are large enough to provide 130 students with the comfortable study space and have all necessary resources for effective work. For the physically inclined, the college provides the physical fitness facilities which include indoor games, outdoor games and a gym. The institution also has an aspect of mass drill and yoga education so as to make sure that the student is trained as a whole. For the students’ support, there is a health centre which contains the first aid station besides caring for students, even their health is considered as a priority.

The flagship of Vidya Prasarak Samiti’s College of Education is B.Ed programme. This is a two-year full course with approved capacity to admit one hundred students They have the capacity to produce quality teachers in large numbers. It is intended to help students acquire the right knowledge, skills, and a practical experience that would help him or her to be a successful educator. 

The entrance into the B.Ed programme in Vidya Prasarak Samiti’s College of Education is through merit only as provided by the state government and university guidelines. Students who wish to join any of the classes are selected and admitted based on performance in the qualifying examination, entrance test, or any other method as may be determined.
