Vidyasagar Primary Teachers Training Institute, Malda, was established in 2012 and is affiliated with Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. The institution got recognition from NCTE; hence, this institution excelled in teacher education. The institute spreads over a 1-acre campus and runs two regular courses with an intake capacity of 198 students with 6 faculty members, so the institute concentrates on the quality education of teacher training.

The Institute provides its students with various infrastructural facilities for development in academics as well as extracurricular activities. The library can accommodate 100 students at a time and has more than 5,000 books and bound periodicals. It subscribes to nearly 50 current journals and popular magazines. Extra large play fields with one full-size stadium supplement the physical fitness and recreational facilities for athletic sports such as cricket, football, and track events. The entire campus is wired with fully modern IT infrastructure, while several computer laboratories with Microsoft Office suite and a number of other relevant packages are available. An auditorium, boys' hostel, girls' hostel with safety and comfortable living conditions assured serve these events and seminars.

Vidyasagar Primary Teachers Training Institute provides two regular courses such as Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).These programs help students find a professional career in Teaching at different levels of Education.                     

Admission to Vidyasagar Primary Teachers Training Institute is as per the guidelines of the Government of West Bengal and the NCTE. Regarding the B.Ed course, the institute follows the instructions of state governments regarding eligibility and selection procedures. As far as the D.El.Ed course is concerned, all admissions are made in conformation with the norms prescribed by the State Government and NCTE.
