Vijay College of Education, Tiruvannamalai: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Vijay College of Education, Tiruvannamalai, was started in the year 2009, under the affiliation of Tamil Nadu, India. This co-educational college covering 3.56 acres of land focuses on the preparation of professional teachers and incorporates with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). These colleges offers its total student intake 169 and has the services of a staff strength of fourteen members. At Vijay College of Education, B.Ed is the only course that is offered and it is a full time course that takes two academic years and has an approved admission capacity of one hundred students.

Vijay College of Education has many facilities meant to assist change the learning process of it’s the students. The campus boasts modern Laboratory facilities in Physical Science Education, Biological Sciences Education, Computer Sciences Education, Psychology Education and a Language Laboratory. As for the physical needs of the Extramural Activities, the college has been endowed with a professionally developed football ground, basketball court, two volleyball courts and two shuttle courts. They also have an athletic track for 200 meters. The facilities provided by the college consist of a Net centre having more than twenty-five high configuration computers, through which all the student-teachers come under internet exposure. They contain educational and vocational periodicals, magazines, journals, and more than 4500 volumes, computerised digital library facilities.

The course that is offered in Vijay College of Education at this time is only one and it is the Bachelors in Education or the B.Ed. This course is a full-time course that takes two years to complete and the approved capacity is one hundred students. This is a teaching programme and prepares students for the teaching profession by offering them the knowledge and skills required for the teaching profession. Though the college is centred on this specific degree programme, considerable and intensive training in the field of teaching is provided.

Admission procedure in Vijay College of Education is done strictly according to the merit rates. Admission of learners is decided after performance in the qualifying examination or entrance test. The college also adopts any other selection procedure as stipulated by the policy of the State Government, UT administration, and the University with which the college is affiliated. 

Vijay College of Education proposes many services in order to help college students and make their studying process effective. These are a health centre with first aid facilities, a gym for general body exercise, accommodation facility for the guest faculty and students family, and kitchen for preparing meals for the staff and students. In addition to these, it has an auditorium for all the functions and seminars as well as transport facilities for the college going student and staffs.
