Vijaya Institute of Technology for Women, Vijayawada: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Vijaya Institute of Technology for Women was established in the year 2008. It is amongst the finest academic institutes in the district of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This is a women-affiliated college, affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Kakinada and also sanctioned by the All India Council for Technical Education. It is spread over a 4-acre campus, with engineering and management programs offered. It has maintained a good student-teacher ratio with an overall enrolment of 693 students and faculty size of 108.

The institute has a number of modern facilities to assist its academic cn-as. The library is well-stocked with almost 11,000 volumes of books, periodicals, and journals, which helps students immensely in their studies. The IT system in VITW is just at its best, and the students learn by the most recent technologies. There are a number of modern laboratories in the college to make the learning experience practical. Girls' hostel facilities, comprising well-furnished rooms along with all sorts of modern amenities, are provided within the college campus of SRK. The environment of the hostel is really good to do focused studies and research work. There is a state-of-the-art kitchen and large dining area that caters to the nutritious needs of the students. The in-house canteen, auditorium, and sports facilities are also there on campus.

The VITW provides holistic programs under its courses, addressing the needs and interests of both the students and the industry. A total of ten full-time courses are provided by the institution viz., B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Data Science. Apart from that, VITW offers diploma courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering, along with providing diploma courses related to management studies such as MBA. 

The VITW admission process is transparent and well-defined. B.Tech courses fill 70% of the seats based on the rank obtained by the candidates in the AP EAMCET conducted by APSCHE. The remaining 30% are under the management quota, provided they hold eligibility for APPGECET. MBA admissions are made through the ranks obtained in APICET. Since it falls under POLYCET, conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, AP, the admission notice for Diploma is also considered. In addition to these, there are 20% reserved seats for diploma holders who join the B. Tech program through the ECET entrance test with lateral entry.
