Vimal Jyothi Institute of Management and Research, Kannur was established in the year 2010, VJIM is an affiliated college. This institution has MBA with approval of AICTE and also NAAC accredited; it is a women institution also. Located within a limited area of 2.62 acres, VJIM current offers the total student enrolment of 77 and the total faculty members of 6. The institute offers one full time MBA programme with total of 60 seats, in a view to offer quality management education in a conducive learning environment.

Vimal Jyothi Institute of Management and Research has all the necessary fine infrastructures to enhance it faculties of knowledge delivery. The campus has central Wi-Fi enabled well ventilated air conditioned classrooms with multimedia equipments that provides both comfortable as well as technologically enabled learning environment. The facility’s library is well stocked: it contains books of various genres, multimedia CDs, National and International journals, and magazines. It also offers its/end user services like Internet use of library resources like EBSCO, J GATE, SAGE etc., for the facilitation of research and learning of students and faculty members. Regarding, students’ health VJIM provides several kinds of sports amenities for outdoor and indoor activities such as play fields, athletic track, table tennis, basketball, badminton and volley ball. It also has a computer centre with 60 nodes and 10 Mbps Internet connection to support IT based education and On-line Tests.

VJIM Education has its main focus on one of its MCU’s, namely MBA, which is a two years full time programme . This Institute has an approved intake of 60 students to this course to ensure proper admission and passage through out that the student will acquire personalised training. Unfortunately, the information on the number of specialisations offered and fees structure could not be obtained, however the MBA programme at VJIM aims at preparing the students to acquire adequate knowledge and skills for operation in the complex business environments. NAAC accreditation and AICTE approval of the Institute assures that education provided is in compliance with the norms of higher learning as standardise nationally.

The entry procedure in VJIM is tough and integrated for imparting MBA programme . Prospective students are required to have a valid score in one of the accepted entrance exams: , CAT, CMAT or, KMAT Kerala, which is known as Kerala Management Admission Test. Consequently, the entrance examination has an 80% weight in determining admission. Besides, there are a Group Discussion and Personal Interview, which are equivalent to 10 percent weightage each. This multi-faceted approach helps the institute not only to evaluate the academic capability, language ability and personal characteristics of the applicants. For CAT: Aspiring candidates are expected to be alive to the specific admission dates, although there is neither a fixed date nor semester for exam registration for CAT, CMAT or KMAT Kerala but is part of the admission process.

As seen, VJIM desires to offer a holistic education to it’s students. The institute also has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, internet facility with group sitting arrangement. Students are allowed to socialise at a cafeteria style which has a capacity to hold 200 people. There is als a campus that has an auditorium that is capable of accommodating 400 persons during seminars and conferences. There are also provisions for a health club, a clinic and for banking need Syndicate bank also operates there. With the help of all these facilities, the student at VJIM is provided with a balanced campus life complementary to their academic programmes ad personal growth.
