Padmbhushan Dr Vasantdada Patil College of Architecture, an esteemed constituent of Vivekanand Institute of Technology, Pune, was set up in 1995 to provide architectural education. The college is set in Pirangut, Mulshi, Pune, over a land area of 3.5 acres of land. Recognised by the Council of Architecture, the institute comprises 3 courses of 2 degree programs offering specialisation in architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture. The college’s total student intake stands at 444, and the faculty strength is 31; therefore, the college has a reasonable student-teacher ratio. The institute wraps its quality education goals in its diverse courses and modern education amenities.

The college possesses numerous modern facilities that can help improve the learning outcomes of students in college. The library occupies an area of 164.44 sq m; it contains more than 6,000 books, 38 journals, and three databases of national and international standards. It has open access and also has an informal reading room with the form of an open air. The computer laboratory contains one hundred and twenty-eight computers, sixty-nine of which are in the main computer laboratory with audiovisual facilities. Students use software like Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Suite in their academic and learning environment. In addition to class rooms, laboratories, and libraries, the college also has a canteen, an auditorium, sports facilities, and separate hostels for boys and girls. Another novelty is the open-air gymnasium equipment within the territory of the educational institution to strengthen students’ health. 

The courses offered by the Padmbhushan Dr Vasantdada Patil College of Architecture of Vivekanand Institute of Technology are a total of 3 full-time courses. These are one undergraduate programme (B.Arch) and two postgraduate programmes (M.Arch in Landscape Architecture and M.Arch in Urban Design). The total intake approved for all courses is 120 students per year, with 80 intakes for B.Arch and 20 intakes for each of the M.Arch programmes. 

The criteria of admission in Padmbhushan Dr Vasantdada Patil College of Architecture of the Vivekanand Institute of Technology is divided based on the program. For the B.Arch programme, it is mandatory to qualify in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture ‘NATA’ or JEE ‘Main’ Paper II with a non-zero positive mark. However, the college also considers the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) to get into the B.Arch programme. For postgraduate courses, the MAH M.Arch CET has to be written for the purpose of admission in the state of Maharashtra. The institute has a transport facility with a transport fleet of more than 06 buses to and from the different parts of the city safely. This also saves the lives of the students during transport and, at the same time, makes some of them build intimacy with their peers. The college also keeps close relations between alumni and current college students, maintaining group associations among them.
