Vivekananda College of Education at Arsikere was started in the year 1974 and currently offers one of the reputed colleges for teacher education. This affiliated college is in the Hassan district of Karnataka and has been moulding the future educators for the last four and a half decades. NCTE recognised the college, which means that it has a standard B.Ed. college that provides quality teacher training to its students. Spread across a narrow area of 2.2 acres, the college is at present housing 80 students and has a faculty of 5 persons only. One advantage of such a learning environment is that it enhances the close involvement of students and teachers to provide encouragement and attention in small group sessions.

He said that Vivekananda College of Education has only one programme and that is the B. Ed. programme for which the college admits 50 students per year. This full-time, two-year course aims at imparting to the students the necessary knowledge, skills, and values for effectively teaching in schools. The fact that this college offers only this programme enables the school to do everything in its power and give its best in producing quality teachers aware of the challenges in practice.
