Vivekanandha College for Women (VCW), the affiliated college, was started in the year 2005 and is situated in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu. VCW occupies a large ten-point-one-four-acre compound and undertakes the provision of education for women in a multitude of fields. The college has a total of 1908 students in that it exclusively targets educating female students. VCW is a co-educational college for first-year university and beyond with 31 faculty members, and the organisation offers education over 19 courses and 8 degrees across art, science, and commerce streams.

A tertiary institution is among these facilities, and the college in particular is equipped with modern facilities to support the education process. This campus has a well-equipped computerised library and has more than 8,530 text books, 1120 reference books, and national and international journals. For technology-based learning, VCW has installed 7 computer laboratories with 458 computers to ensure that student’s get the best IT equipment. The college also gives importance to health and physical fitness and the students are provided with newly constructed indoor games and a playground for other related outdoor games like cricket, football, volleyball, kabaddi, etc. 

VCW is currently delivering academic programmes across various levels: 13 at the undergraduate level, 5 postgraduate degrees, and 4 M.Phil. programmes. The college also aims at offering full-time and part-time learning at the same institution in response to students’ demand. Some of its courses are B.Com Computer Applications, BA English, B.Sc Mathematics, BCA, M.Sc Computer Science and master of philosophy programmes in various disciplines. Though intake figures for specific course offers are not known according to intake figures of the college, the current student intake is 1908, signifying its large capacity to teach.

The admission policy at Vivekanandha College for Women is very clear, with the college admitting students on a merit basis. There are no specified dates regarding admission; however, the college follows the academic session of the university with which it is affiliated. To assess and support students needs, VCW provides several amenities such as a well-illuminated girls’ hostel with cool amenities, a medical care hospital for multiple specialities, and an economical canteen. 

The college also runs a fleet of over 230 buses, which transport students from all over the college, which is free, thus helping to bring education to the people throughout the districts.
