VPR Institute of Elementary Teacher Education is a self finance institution which was established in the year 2005 which is located Kamalapuram of Andhra Pradesh. This is a co-educational college authorised by the National Council for Teacher Education having a primary focus on teacher education. Located in a plot of 1 acre of land the institute has only two full time courses with 51 intake in total. The faculty strength of VPR Institute is twenty, therefore maintaining a healthy student teacher ratio in order to provide special attention to each person with the dream of being a teacher. Due to the institutes specialization in offering certification in elementary and secondary teacher education, it is ideal for anyone who wants to take a career in teaching.

Many facilities have been established to support the learning needs of all students in the institute. At the centre of these amenities is a fully stocked library with more than 3,500books, electronic CDs, and A.V tapes in different fields of education. About twenty five journals and five daily newspapers are subscribed to to give students easy access to the current literature on education. For physical development the institute provides sports ground and gymnasium. A building for conducting lectures, meetings etc is also available on campus; also there is a facility of canteen and health center which has first aid facilities. For the support of academic curriculum, the institute runs subject based laboratories and has own IT infrastructure to prepare students for modern techniques of academic delivery. 

VPR Institute of Elementary Teacher Education provides two basic programmes in the area of education. They are both day programmes aimed at producing qualified teachers to teach in our school s and colleges. Semesters available at the institute are Diploma in Elementary Education commonly known as D.El.Ed and Bachelor of Education commonly known as B.Ed, both of which are two years programs. The intake capacity of D.El.Ed program is 50 seats while intake capacity of B.Ed is not mentioned. These programmes are for students who want to qualify as teachers for the elementary school and the secondary school respectively.

The admission for students in VPR Institute of Elementary Teacher Education is strictly based on merit, following guidelines set by the government of Andhra Pradesh and the university in which the Institute is located. For the D. El. Ed programme the admissions are given according to the marks secured in the qualifying examination /entrance test. Likewise, for the B.ED program the admission criteria also include the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination as well as any test that particular state conducts for admission.
