VR Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College, established in 2014, is an aided institution located in Palakkad, Kerala. This BCI-recognised law school offers a subtle combination of legal study and business management within the five-year BBA LLB (Hons) course. Located in the tranquil locality of the Elevancherry, the college offers the right atmosphere for attracting legal professionals. It has a faculty strength of 12 highly committed teachers, which signifies that the aim of the institution is to produce the next generation of legal brains.
From the above statistics, the college has effectively developed modern equipment that refines the learning process of the learners. In the middle of these facilities stands a modern, equipped library with stock of standard books, text books, reference books, and leading law journals. The digital library is supplementary to this resource and gives the students access to the cases, judgements, bare acts, and legal dictionary through the internet. The members of law school, and especially the upcoming lawyers, can exploit the huge Moot Court Room as it creates the actual learning environment of the court for practice and polishing the arguments.
The college equally considers the general welfare of its students by providing sports amenities and a canteen that provides mouth-watering foods in addition to offering opportunities for natural beauty. Due to the diversified student body, the institution offers both single-sex hostels for boys and girls to enable them to have a comfortable home away from home.
At present, the VR Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College is furnished with only one programme, which is the integrated BBA LLB (Hons) course. This full-time course, which takes five years to complete, comprises both business administration and a broad legal programme designed to equip students with versatility to fit into complex markets in law and commerce. It has an approved enrolment capacity of 60 students in order to enhance an appropriate student-faculty ratio that would enable teachers to spend adequate time with each learner.
The admission process of VR Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College is focused on the admission of the highest quality talents to the BBA LLB (Hons) programme. Applicants are expected to sit the KLEE, an examination set by the Kerala government to gauge the students’ ability to pursue law. Its relevant to note that admission to the college may not be on a yearly basis but candidates are encouraged to frequent the college website or any official channel in order to get the latest updates.
This paper analyses how the institution aims at creating a learning environment for diverse students by providing modern physical and instructional facilities. Whereas more detailed information concerning scholarships is not retrievable, the college presumably provides different forms of scholarships to relevant students, as is the tradition in a college. Being one of the relatively young institutions, VR Krishnan Ezhuthachan Law College started its growth process to establish the college as one of the recognised institutions in the legal education market with the principles of providing the highest quality education along with students’ practical experience.
