If you're planning to pursue marketing then XIME is not a bad option. You can easily secure a compensation package of 8-10 lakhs with a little hard work and perseverance. But for other branches of management it's not a very good option.

Apart from this for marketing you can check out the following colleges also. They have a great marketing program
  • IMT Ghaziabad, Nagpur and Hyderabad
  • ICFAI Business School Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune
  • IMI Delhi and Bhubaneshwar
  • BIM Trichy
  • BIMTECH Noida
  • Prin LN Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research Mumbai

Among a these the best option for marketing will be XIME Bangalore. In fact it is way better than the rest if the colleges you've mentioned in terms both academics and placements. After that you can choose the colleges in the following order
  • BIMM Pune
  • ITM Navi Mumbai
  • SIES Navi Mumbai
  • JIMS Rohini
  • UBS
  • Jaipuria main campus

Apart from this if you're interested in marketing try to go for the main campus of any college as their academic program will always be trusted by most of the organizations.

Good Luck

Good Luck!

Hello Sneha,

Xavier Institute of Mangement Studies is a good institution for management students as it provides good exposure of the industrial environment and adapt students to the global economy.

Since I'm also based out of Kerala and settled in Delhi, there is difference in composition and crowd of north-south. Both south and north provide good exposure and training but studying in north will give you additional advantage of learning new language, getting out of your comfort zone will make you more self dependent and you will gain a whole lot of experience and knowledge. Don't worry in initial stage you will face difficulty but soon you will be able to adapt yourself to the surroundings.

Goodluck for XAT. I hope it helps

All the best!

Dear Aspirant,

The better B school can be looked over in a number of aspects. Here are some of them for both PRAXIS and XIME, so that you decide.

PRAXIS, Kolkata

The accepted exams for PRAXIS are CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA and it also conducts the exams PAT. It offers two courses across three streams and six specialisations. The average fees moves from 6 lacs to 8 lacs for the course.

The number of placements at PRAXIS is extremely high and the packages range from 6.5 to 13 with around 90% to 95% placements in a particular course. The companies which come for in-campus placements are keen and top-ranking. The average package for the placements in 2018 was 8.30 LPA for Business Analytics.

The faculty is from renowned institutes and has experience. The institute offers chances to interact with industry experts with assignments and projects with companies like INFOSYS, ICICI Bank, Siemens and many more.

XIME, Bangalore

XIME is known for arranging international events collaborating with around seventeen institutions across the globe which include, international study tours for the students, faculty exchange programs, and campus exchange programs. It accepts the exams MAT and XAT and provides two courses in two streams.

Placements here are not just consistent like PRAXIS but they are have had years with 100% placements with an average package of 7 lacs and the highest being 14 LPA. The roles offered are that of general manager, HOD, assistant manager and similar roles.

XIME conducts International educational visits/ study tours in Europe, China, Singapore and Malaysia for PGDM students. Also, the entrepreneurship aspect is stronger being an incubation centre in itself. XIME collaborates with institutions and industries such as AIMS, BIC, CII, IAJBS, SHRM and many more to enhance the quality of teaching.

Hope this helps. All the best!

hi,

While filling up the MAT application form, you have to choose 5 preferred B-schools, to which your application and MAT score will be sent by AIMA. Apart from those institutes, if you want to apply in other institutes, that you have to do separately by paying the stipulated application fee.

If you are inclined towards marketing only then XIMB will be a better option. In every ways XIMB is better than XIME be it a course on business management or Human Resource. But the placements are good in both the colleges and you can get a decent average package of 8-10 lakhs from both the colleges.

Good luck

If you have scored lesser than 90 percentile in MAT being a general category student then your chances of getting into any of these colleges is very low as they have a certain percentage of seats only for MAT.

But if you are focusing on these two colleges only then you can appear for CAT or XAT for the next academic year. Or you can consider some other colleges based on your MAT scores.

Good luck

Hi Komal,

The cutoff for XIME Bangalore in GMAT is 75 percentile or above. Candidates securing 75 or more percentile in GMAT exam will be eligible for participating in the XIME Bangalore selection process or admission process. To know more about cutoff and admission in XIME Bangalore, you can visit this link: https://bschool.careers360.com/articles/xime-bangalore-cutoff

Good luck.

Dear PD,

If you can wait and feel that you can perform better than your last attempt in CAT then I would suggest you should start working so that you can show some work experience. Interviewers don't like students who take gap year just to prepare for CAT entrance exam since CAT is an aptitude test, not an exam which requires the learning of facts and figures, unlike JEE or NEET and then you should write CAT exam in the coming November. No offence to these colleges but you will spend around 12-15 lakh and you won't get the placement of more than 6 lakh per annum from this college provided if you are in top 10% of your batch. A graduate who studied from a mediocre college earns between 3-4 lakh per annum so do you feel that a jump from 4 lakh to 6 lakh per annum with so much of investment is worth it? If you feel that you can work harder than before and can score percentile of at least 88 then only take a drop. If you don't feel that you can get a percentile around 90 in CAT then don't take a drop because even if you start with a low package, if you work hard then you can get better.
