Yashwantrao Chavan School of Social Work was established at Satara in Maharashtra, India in 1994. It is one of the most coveted social work education centres in Maharashtra. Situated in Shardashram, Jakatwadi, Satara, this affiliated college owns a campus area of 14 acres. The two degree courses in social work offered here cater to a total enrolment of 264 students. With a faculty of 10 members, the college believes in individual attention and quality education for its students. Yashwantrao Chavan School of Social Work is an accredited institution by the NAAC, National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It is an excellence in the learning climate of the social sciences. There are few basic amenities provided for student comfort. A good library is an important source of knowledge with subscriptions to 81 reputed journals, 10 newspapers, and a large number of books related to social sciences. 

IT facilities in the college centre include a computer centre that also has internet and email services, which are integral skills to the social worker profession. Students have access to various software packages, including SPSS, for statistical analysis. The campus provides facilities for girls' hostels apart from being a safe and conducive environment for out-station girls. Other infrastructural facilities include Wi-Fi connectivity, sports facilities, a cafeteria, a health centre with first aid services, a gymnasium, and an auditorium for events and seminars. 

Yashwantrao Chavan School of Social Work offers two full-time courses: Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). This MSW programme admits 60 students and runs on two years; BSW also takes in 50 students that run on three years. Overall, both curriculums of the courses are aimed at imparting students with the knowledge and skill that will be needed for an appropriate career in social work. Therefore, a tally of the two programmes sums to a total of 110 students. These sum to the total enrolment of the institute, which sums to 264 students.
