YK College, Wangjing, was set up in 1972 and is an affiliated college in Thoubal, Manipur. This prestigious university with its area of 2.46 acres provides a vast number of undergraduate programmes. Recognised under the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, YK College has the strength of 934 students and 33 faculties. The college offers 31 courses under 4 degree programmes with a focus on arts and science. 

Several facilities are available to the student in the college with the intent of improving their lot. A new constructed girls hostel of Vinayaka Project can accommodate 40 students and the hostel facilities the students with safe and comfortable accommodation. Approximately 8000 books and text books, daily newspapers and academic journals are available in the central library to facilitate research and learning amongst students. For technology enthusiasts, YK College is fitted with 10 computers and has broadband internet connectivity and provides short term courses on computer literacy. Sports ground along with a newly developed swimming pool supports the health and rejuvenation of the students. It also has an auditorium to accommodate event and seminars, practical based departmental laboratories and a canteen for providing refreshment during working days. Free Wi-Fi campus allows the students to have online access and remain connected all times.

YK College provides thirty one undergraduate courses with the option for thirty one full time courses. These include BA and B.Sc both normal and honour’s degrees in different fields of specialisation. The college also has a total approved intake of ninety three three students for all the courses offered in the institution. The subject combinations include B.Sc Botany Zoology and Chemistry with an intake of 175, B.A Political Science Education and Economics with an intake of 100, and various honours streams in English, Manipuri, Political Science, Zoology and more with an intake of 50 each. The different courses meet general learning needs and field of specialisation in different professions.

The primary criterion that YK College mostly relies on for admitting students is Common University Entrance Test Under Graduate (CUET UG). This test protects the interest of the institution by making sure that only deserving students get selected throughout the competitive world. The college considered scholarships for excellence to allow deserving students. These sponsorships also aid in putting up supplemental financial means to bring quality education to low income students.
