YV Rao Siddhartha College of Education, Vijayawada: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

YV Rao Siddhartha College of Education was initiated in 1984 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This is a co-education college affiliated to a university and approved by the NCTE to provide quality education in teaching. The college is situated on a small plot of 2.2 acres, offering two specialised courses in education with a total student enrolment capacity of 166. A faculty strength of 20, with a strong determination for teaching, keeps a good student-to-teacher ratio, which is highly conducive to the needs of aspiring teachers.

A well-equipped library with over 8,221 books, 42 educational journals, and 60 encyclopedias serves as a rich source of help for academic affairs. A regular library period in the timetable makes way for systematic study from these sources. Practical training is provided for in various sorts of laboratories, such as Physical Science, Biological Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Psychology, and Language labs. In the process, the Language Laboratory will be renovated with electronic gadgets for a multi-media environment to enable innovations in modern methods of teaching and further enhance the acquisition skills of language communication. 

YV Rao Siddhartha College of Education offers two regular courses, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and a Master of Education (M.Ed) programme. The two-year B.Ed. programme has an approved intake of 150 seats, with a professional launch into the teaching profession at the secondary level for students. The two-year M.Ed. programme, holding an approved intake of 50 seats, trains aspirants who want to take up more advanced professional roles in education, that is, teacher educators and educational researchers.

The process of admission to B.Ed and M.Ed in YV Rao Siddhartha College of Education is based on the common entrance test conducted by AP State Council for Higher Education. The process has been quite well standardised to ensure fairness and merit-based selection of candidates.
