Zion College of Physical Education, Kadapa: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

One such specialised institution in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, is the Zion College of Physical Education. The co-educational college was started in 1986 with the aim to structure the future of the budding physical education professionals. It is located on a sprawling campus of 15 acres, providing an apt environment for academics and physical pursuits. With a total student enrolment of 23 and a faculty strength of 15, it is sure that every child will get proper, personalised attention and quality education at Zion College. 

A host of facilities are available in Zion College of Physical Education, all aimed at enriching the learning experience of the students. The library is fully stacked to act as a knowledge hub by providing resources for actualising growth in academics. The IT infrastructure of the college keeps the students up-to-date with all the latest developments in the concerned field. There are well-maintained, specialised laboratories for practical implementation of physical education, wherein students can put theoretical knowledge into practice. Events and seminars conducted in the auditorium are meant to enrich campus life. Excellent sports facilities and a well-equipped gym are also available to the students in regard to the main issues under focus for enhancing their physical skills. A health centre with first-aid facilities looks after the health of the campus residents. 

Currently, there is only one full-time course offered by Zion College of Physical Education: the Bachelor of Physical Education B.P.Ed. This three-year course has an approved intake of 100 students to signify the capacity and potential of the college in nurturing a decent number of future professionals in the physical education field. This program of B.P.Ed. is designed to provide training with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in the area of physical education to the students, thus preparing them for different careers available in schools, sports academies, and fitness centres. 

The admission process to Zion College of Physical Education is based on merit and involves the consideration of multiple factors so that only meritorious students are selected for admission. The admission process considers the performance of prospective students in an entrance examination that comprises a written test, a fitness test, and an interview. Apart from this, the percentage scored in the qualifying examination is also considered. Therefore, this admission policy makes use of a multi-dimensional assessment of applicants so that the institution can justly and transparently declare admissions in light of the policies prescribed by the state government and the affiliating university.
