Educational Qualification

To be eligible for the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) classes, you must be well versed in IT risk assessment, IT risk identification, risk response and mitigation, and risk and control monitoring and reporting.

Work Experience

 You need at least 3 years of work experience (cumulative) as a CRISC professional in a minimum of 2 out of the 4 CRISC domains. Here, Domain 1 or 2 is compulsory.

Certificate qualifying details

You must also take up the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) exam, where you can get accredited after scoring 450 out of 800. Also, you can only get the certificate if you have passed the exam in the past 5 years.

Evaluation process

The Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) exam runs for 4 hours and comprises 150 multiple choice questions or MCQs. You can sit for the test at nearly 1,300 PSI locations globally and in 10 languages.

Your result, if you have cleared it or not, appears on your computer screen immediately after you complete the exam. On the 200-800 score range, the passing mark is a scaled score of 450 (as set by ISACA). You receive the official score via email. It is also accessible online within 10 days from the exam date.

If you qualify, you will get information on how to apply for the CRISC certification. You can only get the certificate if you have passed the exam in the past 5 years. You must also have work experience in the preceding 10-year period from the certification application date or 5 years from clearing the examination.

After clearing the exam, you must submit the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) programme application and pay the application processing fee. A fee of $50 is mandatory for submission.

You must follow the Continuing Professional Education Program and Code of Professional Ethics. You also have to comply with Information Systems Auditing Standards.
