Module 1 – Understanding Learning

  • Course content explores a series of different learning styles, along with the key competencies required to succeed as an adult educator.

Module 2 – Increasing Your Expertise

  • The importance of increasing expertise and continuous development in general represents the primary core focus of Module 2.  
  • Candidates learn that in order to become a truly world-class practical trainer, personal training and development must be viewed as ongoing processes at all times.  
  • Additional related concepts introduced include effective learning materials, courseware customisation, copyright considerations, motivation and more.

Module 3 – Stress Management Training

  • Course content in Module 3 focuses on essential stress-management training, exploring effective techniques for dealing with stressful situations and how to enhance/refine personal resilience.  
  • Candidates discover how effective problem-solving competencies can reduce stress and anxiety, along with the value of various relaxation techniques.

Module 4 – Planning a Workshop

  • The core fundamentals of planning professional workshops follow in Module 4, incorporating an investigation of various tools and resources of use to the practical trainer.  
  • Along with the most important elements that build successful workshops, candidates also explore a variety of associated challenges.

Module 5 – Your Role as an Effective Communicator

  • Course Module 5 discusses the role of the practical trainer as an effective communicator, bringing to light the importance of strong and consistent communication in adult education.  
  • Along with an overview of Kirkpatrick's Levels of Evaluation, candidates discuss how to lead conversations, professional knowledge evaluation, impact evaluation and more.

Module 6 – Dealing with Difficult Situations

  • Bringing the course to a close, Module 6 guides candidates through a variety of difficult situations associated with adult learning/workshops.  
  • Course content explores the anticipating, pre-empting and addressing of problematic scenarios, both within the workshop setting and while working as a practical trainer in general.
