Course overview

Our world is run by numbers. You can find them everywhere: in the stock market, sports, news, and clocks. However, Algebra is about the number you cannot see, but which helps you determine the unknown by using the known. To help you understand the world of algebra, edX, in collaboration with SchoolYourself, has designed the Introduction to Algebra Certification course, aimed at students who’re starting in the fields of engineering, science, or maths.

The Introduction to Algebra by edX allows you to choose your own unique path with each lesson. You also have the privilege of jumping between different materials to review the material learned earlier. The program covers the standard, high-school level Algebra curriculum. CCSS or common core alignment is also specified when applicable.

The course curriculum for the Introduction to Algebra training covers topics such as quadratics, graphs, lines and inequalities, integers, decimals, and fractions. After completing the course, you’ll be confident in tackling algebra-related problems. You can also opt for the easily shareable and purchasable course completion certificate if you wish to showcase your skills.
